Hot Water Bottle Cover Kit
A Knit Kit.
A warm and cosy wool hot water bottle cover, perfect for keeping you snug and comfortable during the chilly winter months.
Knit one for yourself or as a perfect cosy festive gift.
Pattern:
The pattern is the small, 3 colour version of the ‘Maxine Hot Water Bottle Cover’ by Laura Penrose and is available to purchase at her website or via Ravelry.
My version shown here was slightly modified by only knitting the central motif in colour work (rows 9-23) and the rest of the pattern was knitted in the main colour only.
There is enough yarn in the kit to knit the full 3 colour version of the pattern.
Kit includes:
50g of Welsh Jacob DK in Natural Grey
10g each of Trysori-treasure in Pinc and Pur - Natural (both held double for pattern)
The hot water bottle size you will need is 500ml. This is not included in the kit.
Yarn Info:
Jacob DK
A limited Edition, non super wash, fully traceable Welsh wool yarn.
This yarn has been grown, spun and naturally dyed within a 50 mile radius of the studio. The lovely Jacob sheep graze in lush fields 2 miles away and are the owners ‘pets’.
The natural grey base gives a lovely heathered look to the finished yarn which is rustic without being prickly. It has great body and as it’s woollen spun is ‘toothy’, thus being really good for any kind of colour work and fairisle.
Suitable for jumpers, cardigans, cosy shawls and more
Hand dyed using plants & botanical extracts at my garden studio in West Wales, UK
Inspired by the landscape and changing seasons of the mountain
Trysori-treasure
Beulah Speckled Face
Some years ago I dreamt of being able to offer a yarn that was 100% Welsh from sheep to skein
….and here is the first ever batch of exclusive fully traceable, local yarn made from the sheep that graze the fields surrounding my studio. This flock is very close to my heart & I treasure the time I spend with them, especially at lambing time.
Hence the name of the collection ‘Trysori’ the Welsh word for treasure, as in cherish.
A soft woollen spun yarn with character & charm.
This yarn has a little ‘bite’ without being too ‘rustic’ and would be good for colour work and steeking as well as your regular projects.
