Meeting King Charles the 3rd

It’s the Kings Coronation this weekend….congratulations to His Majesty.

Here’s a little story about meeting him…

Having been involved in various projects to help promote wool, I was fortunate to be part of the Cambrian Mountains Initiative (CMI) some years ago. The aim was to produce a good quality knitting yarn from Welsh mule fleece grown in the locality of the Cambrian Mountains.

This was achieved after much hard work from the group of women involved and an event was held at a country hotel near Aberystwyth to showcase the work of 25 designer/makers using the Welsh mule wool, I being one of them.

The then, HRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales took a keen interest in the project being an advocate for nature, the environment and natural materials and the patron of the ‘ Campaign for Wool’ and came along to the launch event!

Genuinely engaged chat about all things wool proceeded which made for a very special day and that’s how I met His Majesty, King Charles the 3rd.
